Watchdog - 4 Song Demo Tape

New name and a new direction for this Canadian band who were formerly known as Goms (the name under which they had a few previous releases on the Slow Death label). This time around they're a bit heavier and gnarlier. While it's not full-on in that style, something about this reminds me of Sheer Terror... perhaps because it's heavy, nihilistic, and slightly metallic (though I will say that Watchdog are much tighter than Sheer Terror and don't have that heavy Celtic Frost influence). It seems to me as if meanness is Watchdog's primary reason for existence... this is just bruising, negative, and crushing music. If you look to hardcore as a way to focus and channel your rage then you can probably get a play or two out of this before you smash your stereo to bits.
